A Collaborative Circe Singing and Songwriting Workshop from folk songs to spirituals, nursery rhymes to chants, people have been gathering and singing short, repetitive, singable songs for hundreds if not thousands of years. to grieve, to heal, to protest, to celebrate. this is not a new concept and is deeply rooted in tradition. i like to call a version of these short songs "seeds" because they feel like they can fit in your pocket, and you can take them anywhere you go. they might feel like a snack to chew on while going about your day, but if you plant them, especially in a group, they can grow tall, vast, and organically, moving through seasons of expression and turning into something unexpected and powerful. my intention for this workshop is to teach you a few seeds of my own, and then we will take the time to write some together, based on collective themes and feelings of the group. this is now a seed you can carry in your pocket, or plant in your community garden, or pollenate wherever it decides to show up in your life :) i hope to see you there <3 please bring a writing utensil, journal, and water bottle! if you have a seed you would like to teach the group, there will be time to share :) donation based. no experience necessary.
